This March, celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in the Milwaukee area with delicious Irish food and drink, fun traditions, music, and camaraderie.

THE PARADE
March 11
Presented by Miller Lite, Milwaukee’s traditional 55 Shamrock Club of Wisconsin St. Patrick’s Day Parade is back with over 100 units, including Irish dance groups, pipe and drum corps, and local dignitaries. The parade begins at noon on North MLK Drive and West Wisconsin Ave., weaving its way through downtown districts before it ends at Water St. and Highland Ave. 

FAMILY FUN

March 11: The 11th Annual Lucky Leprechaun 7k begins at 10am in Hart Park, winding its way through Wauwatosa and ending back at the historic park. Post-race festivities include beer and soft drinks from Leff’s Lucky Town and live music by Joe Wray. PARTIES

March 17: County Clare Irish Inn & Pub, 1234 N. Astor St., opens at 8am for its St. Patrick’s Day Charity Event. The day begins with a full Irish breakfast followed by a Blessing of the Shamrock at 10:30am, Celtic music and traditional Irish dancers. $5 cover charge, with proceeds benefiting local charities. Cedar Creek Settlement March 18-19: Shop, sip tasty beverages, dine, and partake in St. Patrick’s Day weekend festivities at the Shops of Cedar Creek Settlement during Get Your Lucky On. Listen to Carrie O’Tunne sing traditional Irish songs from noon to 4pm Saturday. From noon-3pm Sunday, Irish balladeer Derek Bryne, formerly of Riverdance and now the lead singer of Paddygrass, will keep the crowd enchanted with his classic and soulful Irish tunes.  cedarcreeksettlement.com

LIVE MUSIC

March 3, 4, 5 Music at the Irish Cultural  and Heritage Center, Irish Cultural and Heritage Center, 2133 W. Wisconsin Ave.  The Irish Cultural and Heritage Center is a premier venue in downtown Milwaukee for Irish activities, concerts, cultural events and more. In March, enjoy a variety of Celtic music concerts including: March 3 at 7:30pm Scythian, Washington, DC-based high-energy folk music,  March 4 at 7:30pm J.P. Cormier and Dave Gunnin, Canadian roots-based singer/songwriter duo, and  March 5 at 4:30pm Lunasa an award-winning Irish acoustic band on. 

March 9, 2pm & 7:30pm Celtic Angels Ireland  Hartford’s Schauer Arts Center Enchanting and uplifting audiences with more than 30 contemporary and classic Irish songs, featuring stunning harmonies. www.schauercenter.org.

March 17, 8-10pm àthas  Sharon Lynne Wilson Center  for the Arts Don’t miss Milwaukee Irish band àthas (Irish for ‘joy and happiness’) at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts.
