SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Memories are made in Milwaukee every July, especially in 2008 as new attractions come on line and traditional visitor favorites expand. Northwestern Mutual financial representatives and a host of other visitors to Milwaukee will be among the first to see the new Harley-Davidson Museum in the Menomonee Valley just south of downtown Milwaukee and Potawatomi Bingo Casino after a $240 million expansion. The U.S. Bank Championship, the only PGA stop this year in Wisconsin or the Chicago area, is broadening its appeal and the 40th International Cycling Classic (Superweek) hosts riders from 20 countries in a true Olympic tune-up. Lakefront festivals fill the month, beginning with Milwaukee's Big Gig, Summerfest, and moving on to Festa Italiana and German Fest. Local festivals also await visitors, from the Milwaukee's always-popular South Shore Frolics to a new festival in Historic Cedarburg.

Milwaukee's many world-class museums also are stepping up the pace this month. At the Betty Brinn Children's Museum, youngsters for the first time will enjoy the locally produced "Adventures of Mr. Potato Head." New exhibits also will greet visitors to Discovery World and the Milwaukee Art Museum.

Be sure to subscribe to our new Key-Zine, a monthly e-mail newsletter that offers special tips, and shopping and dining discounts, found nowhere else.

If you're coming to Milwaukee by car, our downtown map is the only one that includes all of the changes made to date by the massive Marquette Interchange Project in downtown Milwaukee. Visit mchange.org for temporary closings involved in the project. This month we also have added the route of Milwaukee's free, downtown trolley on our maps page.
