Discover the beauty and creativity of local landscapes during the Port Washington Garden Club’s annual Garden Walk. This self-guided tour features seven gardens—six privately owned and one community garden—spanning Port Washington, the Town of Port Washington and Belgium. Visitors will experience a vibrant mix of gardening styles, including native plantings, vegetable gardens, woodland landscapes, raised beds and a lakefront rose garden.
This year’s highlights include:
- A native garden filled with pollinators and textured plantings.
- The Port Washington Community Garden, a volunteer-run site with 70 rentable plots.
- Two woodland gardens near the Forest Beach Migratory Preserve, rich in color, hostas, ferns and creative garden art.
- A koi-filled pond garden with mature perennials.
- A vibrant rose garden curated by a lifelong Rose Society members.
- A meticulously designed yard with formal and natural areas, wildlife-friendly features and a willow garden.
In addition, two informal garden talks—“Gardening with Kids” and “Aren’t Roses Hard?”—will offer inspiration and tips for gardeners of all experience levels.
