To celebrate Milwaukee’s dynamic theater scene and its status of having more theater seats per capita than any other city in the nation, MKE Theater District’s imaginative art installation, “Best Seats in MKE,” will be on display through Oct. 20.

Pairs of the upcycled theater seats are placed at unexpected locations throughout the city, inviting visitors to pause and appreciate Milwaukee’s vibrant theater scene, while also enjoying perfect views of the city’s iconic landmarks. This installation uses chairs upcycled from the Milwaukee Rep’s Quadracci Powerhouse Theater as they prepare for the opening of the Associated Bank Theater Center in the Spring of 2025. Milwaukee Theater Week, Oct. 10-20, includes promotions and giveaways, such as tickets to the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, the Milwaukee Ballet, Skylight Music Theatre, Marcus Performing Arts Center, The Florentine Opera and more.

Other Theater Week events include The Lakefront Brewery Trivia Takeover on Oct. 16, It’s Alive, during Gallery Night on Oct. 18 with live music by Skylight Music Theatre near the chairs in the Third Ward.
