The HOME Refugee Steering Committee at the Lynden Sculpture Garden invites you to a series of free, family-friendly events celebrating Milwaukee’s refugee communities through art, food, poetry, performance, and conversation.

This year’s World Refugee Day theme, chosen by Lynden’s HOME Refugee Steering Committee, is We Belong/You Belong: Joy and Unity Against the Odds.

Inspired by this theme, we’ll come together to explore what citizenship means in 2026—and what it could mean in the future—through the experiences of refugees and new Americans.

Join members of Lynden’s HOME Refugee Steering Committee and advisory group for two conversations about refugee resettlement, belonging, and the ways we can create positive change within our communities. Between the discussions, we’ll gather for an intimate, communal Burmese lunch, with time to connect and continue the conversation informally.

These events, including the lunch, are free, but registration is required.
