Experience the scenic, old-fashioned charm of Christmases of yesteryear in downtown Cedarburg. Festive Friday Eves, a series of free family-friendly holiday events, returns to Cedarburg’s Shops of Cedar Creek Settlement for its 27th season.

Each Festive Friday Eve has a different theme, including Santa’s Workshop, The Spirit of Christmas, and Countdown to Christmas. Visitors can sample various foods and products and listen to live music performances. 

“Santa’s Workshop” Friday, December 9, from 5-8 p.m. This free special event for children and families will highlight a child’s look at Christmas.

Santa Claus will be expecting visits from children (and adults) in his decorated holiday corner in the wine cellar from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Letters and lists for Santa will be carefully read and treasured.  Parents are invited to bring their cameras.

The holiday songs of famed Wisconsin balladeer and children’s entertainer David H.B. Drake, in his Christmas Gnome finery, can be heard from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on the Settlement main floor landing. He will bring various instruments for kids to accompany him on. 

Mom and Dad will love shopping throughout the circa 1864 stone building, formerly the Wittenberg Woolen Mill.  Children can create Make & Take Santa ornaments and Snowman ornaments.  Parents must accompany children under age 10.  Sign up for the Gift Basket Drawing at 8 pm.

Mel’s Charities Cookout volunteers will be on hand in the outdoor courtyard to serve hotdogs, brats, hamburgers and beverages (weather permitting/fee).

Enjoy complimentary cookies on the second floor. Cedar Creek Winery will offer a BOGO glass of wine. All of our shops are bursting with great gift ideas and some shops offer food and product sampling.  Grab a bite at one of our restaurants – Anvil Pub & Grille, Cream & Crepe Café andTomasos.  

The Settlement buildings are alight with twinkling white lights and greenery and there is a free Trolley Ride stop at the Settlement each Friday evening.  Our shops are open daily 10-5 and welcome you with the old-fashioned good cheer of a Cedarburg Christmas.

Housed in a restored 1864 wool mill, Cedar Creek Settlement includes gift and specialty shops, the Cedar Creek Winery, and three restaurants. 

Cedarburg’s holiday offerings include classic Christmas films at the Rivoli Theater, holiday luminaries along the streets and free trolley rides through Dec. 17, merchant events, and more.
