This major exhibition is the first to focus on the influence of Spanish art and culture on American painting, and highlights prominent American artists such as Mary Cassatt, Robert Henri and John Singer Sargent. Artists in the 19th century increasingly traveled to Spain to study the masterworks in the Prado Museum and to capture the country’s scenic charms and customs.
