Brewers open season with high expectations

brewersTHE MILWAUKEE BREWERS have returned to the national sports headlines and open the 2008 National League season with an eye toward post-season play and perhaps a World Series appearance.

The Brewers, who added needed relief pitching in the off-season, are led by Prince Fielder, whose 50 home runs in 2007 set a Brewer record and led the National League; Ryan Braun, the National League rookie of the year in 2007, and veteran pitchers Ben Sheets and Jeff Suppan.

Attendance at Miller Park, just five miles west of downtown Milwaukee, surpassed 2.8 million in 2007 and opening day is officially a sellout. For tickets and team updates, visit www.brewers.com.
